Morning Has Broken

June 2, 2017 By Jen Liszka

This morning I am sitting on my balcony, watching the sunrise, and savoring a cup of hot coffee. A small stick bug rests on the window screen, trying to warm up in the sun. What an amazing feeling. I can actually see him clearly, small as he is. I can make out the details of his little eyes and feet.

The ravens are gathering in the trees, arguing over where to go for breakfast, their raucous cries breaking the silence of early morning.

The air is crisp and clear, and I notice the tiniest details in the leaves rustling above me.
The day waits expectantly, full of promise and newly-found hope.
