Sun and Shadows photograph by Jeannie Hope Gibson

Sun and Shadows

July 10, 2017 By Jen Liszka

Even in the sunny places there are shadows outlined behind the light. My life’s journey seems to have a healthy dose of both. So much so that I can never focus too long on the dark times without my eyes being drawn back to the sunlight.

As I studied this plant, I zoomed in on the shadows of the leaves shown behind the larger sunny one, so that I was only focused on the dark shapes hidden behind the light. But as I backed the lens out, there were the same leaves again, lit by sunshine.
