He stands in front of me at Starbucks, laughing with a young friend as they wait for their lattes. He could be my grandson.
He tells his friend he’d like to learn to snowboard. “But I can’t even dance without staggering!” he jokes.
She laughs and offers to help him.
I wish I could interrupt and say, “Learn to dance! Go snowboarding! You can fly even!”
He smiles as he takes his latte. Turning to his young friend, he tells her, “I’m thinking of doing an internship with NASA.”
“With your grades you can do anything,” she replies.
